Hassan, Yehuda


Yehuda, born in 1941 in Yemen, immigrated to Israel in 1949. Yehuda was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1958 and was assigned to the infantry corps, where he completed basic training in the Nahal Brigade and later completed a course for squad commanders. He was disciplined and responsible, and carried out all the tasks assigned to him. At the end of January 1961, Yehuda was discharged from regular service and assigned to a reserve unit of infantry. In this unit he was called for periods of reserve duty. During the Six-Day War he served as a squad commander in the battle to conquer Gaza City. After the war, he took a retraining course for squad commanders in the Armored Infantry and was assigned to the Armored Corps in the Armored Corps, and after his discharge began to work as a construction worker and served as a plasterer, soon becoming an independent contractor for plasterwork. He married his girlfriend Mazal and established his home in Ashkelon, where his two sons were born, and he loved his family and devoted all his free time to his sons’ education.had read books and practiced sports, especially in the field of soccer. His family joined him on his trips, and during the Yom Kippur War his unit participated in his battle On October 19, 1973, Judah was commander of a force squad attacking an Egyptian commando unit that took positions on the route to the “Budapest” stronghold, thus preventing the approach of the IDF forces To the besieged stronghold. Despite the numerical inferiority, and after a bitter and bitter battle, the unit succeeded in destroying the Egyptian force and paving the way to the stronghold. In this battle Yehuda was killed. He was laid to rest at the Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. He left behind a wife and two sons, a mother and a brother. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
