Harodi, Amnon


Son of Binyamin and Rivka, members of Kibbutz Ein Shemer. He was born on the 27th of Tishrei, 5739 (27.9.1937) in the kibbutz. He studied and was educated at the “Mevo’ot Iron” educational school. He worked as a farmer in the cowshed. Upon the outbreak of the Sinai Campaign, he enlisted in the IDF and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. After his release from the army and after his marriage to his father, he spent a short time at home – and then went with his group to a third year of service at Kibbutz Harel, where he had many friends and friends. A year later he returned to the kibbutz and continued as a coworker, a job he had worked from a young age. A short time passed and he received the industry’s concentration and invested considerable knowledge and knowledge in its development and advancement. Was considered the most prominent young dairy farmers and as such was chosen as a member of the management of “On” and as the coordinator of the regional professional committee. His hobby was photography. For many years he played in the kibbutz’s volleyball team, which was the champion of the country. Was a dedicated family man, a loving father to his children, and a bad friend to his friends. While he was full of plans, called to reserve duty on the eve of the Six-Day War as part of the Paratroopers. In those days he wrote to his wife: “Perhaps there is no choice but to do the unbelievable, because the state can not live in such a way … Peace – a word that contains all the goodness and beauty in the world!” Where he fell on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), is the second day of the battles, during the break-in to the police school. left a wife and two sons and a daughter who was born after her father sank. Was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. On the third anniversary of his death, the family erected a monument in memory of Kibbutz Ein Shemer. In his memory (and to his friend Hanoch Buch) a booklet appeared. A page was dedicated to his memory in booklet 53 of them, for the fallen of the national kibbutz in the Six-Day War. Even in the book “Marinas Gabro”, published by the Paratroopers Headquarters, was devoted a page to his history and description of his last battle. The book “about people and roots” prepared long before the war and much of it is Amnon in photographs, was dedicated to his memory and the memory of his friend Hanan. In Volume 4 of “Goily Ash”, the bag of the estate of the sons who fell in Israel’s wars, was brought from his estate.
