In 1933 as part of Youth Aliyah, he and his brother immigrated to Israel together with their parents. On May 19, 1948 Emanuel left the house and joined the 7th Brigade. He participated in Operation Ben Nun Bet, the second attack on the Latrun Legion in order to break through the road to Jerusalem. There a force broke into the Latrun police court, but due to the fierce enemy fire the force suffered casualties and was forced to retreat. This battle Emanuel fell, on the 21st of Iyar, May 30, 1948. Survived by his wife Chaya and a son. On the 25th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
