Harari, Nadav

Nadav, ben Leah and Simha, was born on the 27th of Av, August 13, 1947 in Kibbutz Alonim. From his childhood, he stood out for his sensitivity, his help to others, and the love of nature. He served in the IDF as part of the Armored Corps and fought in the Umm Kataf, Gaza and Rafah. On Yom Kippur he joined his unit in the Armored Corps. He fought fierce, bloody battles and thus crossed the Suez Canal. He was brave and knew no fear. His commanders and friends tell of his courage, resourcefulness and his concern for his comrades. On the 28th of Tishrei October, 24th, 1973, in the fierce battles of Suez he maintained the morale of the unit, and fought valiantly. Nadav was hit by Egyptian snipers, and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul on the day his birthday. He left his wife Noga and two sons, Roi and Gal (who was born a few months after his fall).
