Ben Vered and Jacob. Born on 16.1.1979 in Tel Aviv, brother to Nir. Oren grew up in the L program in northern Tel Aviv and studied at the Aran Elementary School. Toward the end of his studies in elementary school, he moved with his family to Ramat Aviv and studied at the Herzliya Gymnasium in middle school and high school. In the summer of 1997, he completed his studies in the real track with exceptionally high matriculation grades, especially in the real professions. Oren was a charming boy, full of energy, joie de vivre, and mischievous youthfulness. He had an optimism and a sense of humor, and when necessary he also needed to be serious, sensitive, quiet and attentive. He loved to travel and get to know new regions, and to travel with the family in Israel and in many countries in Europe and America. From childhood, Oren stood out above his friends and peers, and with these figures it is no wonder that he was caught up in the basketball game. This field of sport was continuously occupied from childhood to the end of the Gymnasium. Oren played in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth and youth teams, played for a year in the Hapoel Tel Aviv youth team and played for the Gymnasia Herzliya team. Oren has achieved many achievements with the teams he played in, including the league championships and winning the cup games. In August 1997, Oren enlisted in the IDF, volunteered for a special course for the corps corps officer, and in March 1999 he was ordained as a liaison officer. During the service, Oren contacted his close and very warm friends with Kalia, his classmate from the Gymnasium, who served with him on the same basis. This courageous friendship, which deepened and intensified over time, contributed to the fact that during his last year Oren was a happy, contented and loving man over his head. At the end of the Officers’ Course, Oren was appointed as a liaison officer in the Intelligence Corps, a position he was eager to accept and began to fill with vigor, enthusiasm and great devotion. On October 24, 1999, Oren was picked up in the dawn of his youth and he was twenty years old, five months and eight days, and Oren was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents and brother. Things his father wrote on the 30th anniversary of his death: “… we had a charming, talented son and a source of pride. During your studies, we only heard compliments and good words about you. Your athletic achievements have skyrocketed. For us, you would always be – the greatest of all … We miss your presence and your occupying and vibrant society, we lack your bursts of joy, your healthy humor, your jokes, your language refinements and your sayings of kindness. We lack your warm and warm embraces, the laughing eyes and the loving and caressing gaze. … “From his mother’s words:” … we enjoyed every hour with you, every day, but why are you suddenly taken away from us? I am sitting and thinking and remembering / in good times, in a wonderful time, / how from a loving child you have become a wonderful / tall boy, full of life and strong / good Heart and intelligence. “… In a dream like a reverie / You are a light around you, and we will go on and on, because we know that you are protecting us from above.” His brother Nir writes on the anniversary of his death: “You are the object of my thoughts and my longing at any moment. I will not forget your steadfastness, your smile and your sense of humor, wit and wisdom, that I was once again fascinated by their intensity and intensity. I have always been proud of you, of the origin of your mouth, of your actions and your manner, and this pride will carry in my heart forever. You conveyed and conveyed to me a message of peace and coolness, along with cleverness and mischievousness, accompanied by great success and happiness. “Grandma Pnina writes:” For us you were still a tad, a child who was superior in all respects …A family … As your sweet and charming honey, with which she had a wonderful love experience, screamed with heartbreaking pain: “Oren, come back to me !!!” From the words of Uncle Yigal: “… Only good memories of the short time that you were with us will always remain in our memory: smiling, tall, kind and above all innocent (whole) … “His Aunt Nitza writes:” Every time we met, I saw you bigger, With a captivating and shy smile. “Oren, your beautiful and pleasant melody can not be stopped, we hear it at any time and place, there are sad chords on the side of it, Happy chords. It exalts us and at the same time depresses her. The chief of staff, Lieutenant-General Shaul Mofaz, writes: “Oren was described by his commanders as a serious officer with a high personal level, who performed his duties in the best possible way, while demonstrating Oren was outstanding in his industriousness and dedication, and was admired and admired by his commanders and subordinates alike. ” The commander of the unit Oren served in, Lt. Col. Amos, wrote to the family: “During the short time he served in the unit, Oren was very resourceful and capable, and created a unique relationship with those around him, while showing sensitivity to their needs. Oren was an industrious and dedicated officer who had a brilliant future in the army. “Aryan writes:” Oren, how painful and painful it is to write about a tall, handsome, smiling and shy officer who was picked from us in a flash … professionalism And the joy of life along with the seriousness and pedantiness you have enjoyed, have given you a bright future both professionally and personally. ” Dudu’s commander, Dudu, said: “Oren served under my command for a very short period of time, but this period was enough to see his specialness, he entered the work with great motivation and did many things in the field of communication, Who, with surprising speed, connected with them and with great devotion, dealt with their many difficult problems, which even an elderly person finds difficult because of their complexity, such as problems between parents and children, and difficult financial problems. Omar, his friend in the officer’s training course, writes: “… I hope you are here now, you can see us because then you’ll understand how much you love everyone here … I refuse to see my grave as a friend’s grave, “I will always remember the seriousness and wisdom of Oren’s friends, along with his cynicism and jocularity, qualities that have led to many beautiful moments, exciting and joking throughout the entire course, Moments when you buy real friends who make it worthwhile to move the route. ” He said, “Oren talked to me about the responsibility you have as an officer, about the fact that you have soldiers that you have to take care of, and about the work that you and only you are responsible for.” After this conversation I looked at the officer corps as something else. “There are a few people who influence and affect my life to the end, Oren is one of them.” Idan, his friend on the military track, writes: “For a year and eight months we were together, a ‘track’ they call it, but for us it was a family … and in this family Oren, you were our big brother (in every sense)The kind of people who defined them as ‘assets to the track’. A person I could always consult with about anything that was sitting on my heart, in everything you would always combine your special sense of humor, the desire to help and give of yourself. “Shahar, Oren’s friend from the Gymnasium, wrote to his memory:” Nothing is safe today, “said the well-informed roots.” Such a bright green leaf returns to the dust / And the branch was silent, he did not speak, even though he knew that in the morning another leaf would grow up. That does not help … “Tzipi Harpaz, who was an educator and class coordinator at the Herzliya Gymnasium, writes:” There are students who stand out in their voices and their loudness. … Slowly … In those moments when a helping hand is required, on a trip, in social activity, when a person has to volunteer, you could always see him. He was pleasant, his quiet always had the power of knowledge and strength, of standing up for what was necessary and what was right. When I close my eyes, I conjure up rows of students with Oren sitting there in the back, tall, fair, handsome, as if concealing something, obscuring his high stature, which led him with great determination to excel in basketball games. Basketball and sports were all his life. In the 12th grade, Oren reduced his athletic activity so that he could devote his time and energies to concentrating on his studies, which was reflected in his high grades, especially in the real subjects, which he particularly liked. In preparation for the start of his position as a liaison officer in Modi’in, Oren wrote down the main points of my vision and the lines of action that would guide him in his role as officer and commander. From his notes: “My vision – the main values / beliefs / assumptions that guide my work: Reut – mutual help, consolidation, credibility, work – what to do, must work.” The atmosphere I would like to create in my work environment: , I would like to have an atmosphere that is fun to work with, pleasant … I would not want to feel a gray, hostile, conflicted and divided atmosphere, but a cohesive atmosphere in which everyone will enjoy being part of the communication department. Everything that bothers you, professionally, personally, every problem at home, in the unit, with me, or with someone else, I ask you to contact me so that I can deal with the problem. If you eat and I believe you can, you can see me as a father and a mother, you can contact him at any time and in any problem … I want you to know that I am standing here as a commander who will do everything for you with an emphasis on the welfare of the individual – manpower. Understand it and we are committed to this goal in dedicated work and it is done in a fun way … “I usually work with people at eye level, that’s how I work, without distance I want everything to be done from changing the thread and going to a day of wear and tear and sleep for 6 hours a night, to do with understanding and not by command, and that will make the atmosphere better, knowing the purpose and purpose and doing better and right of The mission … We will be the best platoon in the command and battalion company, and not just another department, and I have no doubt about it. We’re embarking on a good and successful journey. “
