Hannev, Edward (Eddie)


Ben Leah and Israel. He was born on 7 July 1973. He was the third son of an eight-year-old family, and when Edward was three years old, the family immigrated to Israel and built their home in Sderot, where he studied at Shikmim Elementary School. He studied at the Nahalat Yehuda High School in Rishon Letzion, in the framework of the agricultural school, he loved the school, he was a good student and from a very young age he discovered musical talents. Eddie was a beloved child, always engaged in social activity. He joined his new friends and became one of the company’s main children. Eddie stood out in his quiet, comfortable temper and was loved and accepted by everyone: students, instructors, and teachers. At the end of November 1991, Edward was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, where he was assigned to the Armored Corps and went on a basic training course. Due to problems in his eyes, he downloaded his medical profile, he was re-assigned. According to his commander, Edward was a very energetic, happy and smiling soldier who had done his job very efficiently. Edward did not accept his new job and aspired to return to his post as a fighter in an armored battalion. On April 3, 1993, Edward fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Sderot. Survived by his parents and seven brothers – Gadi, Roman, Itzik, Ella, David, Yossi, and Yigal.
