Hamami, Tzion

Son of Leah and Saadia, was born in 1928 in the port city of Eden. His wish was to live with his parents in the Land of Israel. In 1943, his ambition was fulfilled when Tzion immigrated to Israel as a pioneer of the family. Because he lacked professional training, he went out with his friend to sell pepper and ice cream on the streets of Tel Aviv and sent most of his wages to his parents. At the beginning of the War of Independence Tzion served in the Givati Brigade and was sent to protect Kfar Uriah. On his way to bring ammunition to positions, Tzion was injured and fell on the day of the 29th of Tevet 5708 (11.1.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. His parents arrived in Israel after his fall.
