Halali, Yehoshua (“Shuki”)

Halali, Yehoshua (“Shuki”)

Son of Moshe and Ora. He was born in Jerusalem on October 26, 1953. He was a member of a local club and worked there with his friends in sports, and Shuki was good at guitar singing and was always the driving force behind bad parties. He was very attached to his family and especially to his mother, who joined the IDF in mid-May 1971 and was assigned to the Artillery Corps. After successfully completing a field artillery course, he was transferred to a moving artillery unit. He spent most of his service in the front lines and was decorated with the “Operational Service Mark”. On the 31st of Elul 5732 (August 31, 1972), Joshua fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In a letter of condolence to his family, his commander wrote: “Joshua grew up among us, absorbed himself in the unit, and discovered his wonderful human qualities.” He knew how to carry out every task he was entrusted with. He was Simcha and proud of Hilo, his heartfelt joy, humor in his language, and poetry in his mouth divided us.
