Halabi, Rajab


Ben was identified as Salah. Was born on October 22, 1961 in Daliyat al-Carmel, to a Druze family with seven children. Rajab attended the school in his village and finished nine classes. From an early age he helped support his family and excelled in his gentleness. The people of his village loved him, always praised him and appreciated his efforts for the well-being of his family. In May of 1983 Rajab volunteered for regular army service and served eight years for maintenance, and he participated in the Peace-Galilee War, which was distinguished by his dedication and loyalty And was loved by his commanders and friends. In May 1988 he married Su’ad and the couple had their first son. Rajab Halabi fell during his service on 24 July 1991 and was buried in the military cemetery in Usfiya. Survived by a wife, a son of Rockon who was not yet eight months old, parents, three brothers – Nazia, Amer and Adwan and three sisters – Dora, Maluk and Malka. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote, among other things: “Rajab performed his duties with devotion and love, while taking care of the soldier’s well-being, was meticulous in his discipline and demanded a work ethic and a personal example from his soldiers. And the soldiers of the base, the deeds and the example of Rajab will be remembered forever and will be the subject of exploration among the commanders of the unit and its soldiers … His death leaves within us an empty space, which will be missed forever. “
