Halabi, Assad


Son of Muhammad and Tafla. As’ad was born in the village of Yirka on July 1, 1941. He acquired his knowledge and education at the school in his village. His fondness for the cultivation and cultivation of the fruits of the land was more evident since he was a boy. On May 8, 1960, Ass’ad joined the IDF as a combat unit and served as a combat soldier in the company that was stationed in Jenin. He performed his duties with the best of his abilities, was very disciplined, and during the service he initiated activities with the rest of his comrades, and part of the operational activities he carried out with his civilian clothes for several days in order to catch infiltrators and terrorists “Asad received his letters of appreciation and the letter of the Yom Kippur War, and Asad was married to Afula and established a house in his village. On March 24, 1982, a violent riot took place in the city of Jenin, where Sergeant As’ad was a combat soldier in one of the teams who was in the area, and he tried to arrest one of the last escapees A knife and stabbed him in the chest, and Asad continued to fight the attacker until he was killed by the rest of the crew. As’ad was evacuated to hospital in serious condition. On April 4, 1982, he died of his wounds. Forty-one years old. He was buried in the cemetery in Yarka. He left a wife and children. For his activity in Jenin, Assad was awarded the Courage Medal by the Inspector General of the Police for a heroic act in the course of his duty, with extraordinary courage and courage.
