Hakimi, Benjamin


Son of Sasson was born in 1930 in the city of Sandoz in Kurdistan (Persia). The father was an enthusiastic Zionist and aspired to immigrate to Israel, but his wish was not realized. Benjamin studied at the Sanandaj High School for two years and continued for a third year at the “Danonfunn” high school in Tehran. He loved music and devoted himself to it. His love of his people and land left Peres when he was a student and immigrated to Israel, and his mother was dependent on him. It was in 1950, three years after the death of the father. At first he came to Ashdot Ya’akov, but two months later he moved to the Givat Haim farm. From here he was drafted into the IDF in January 1951. On 6.5.1951 he fell in a battle at the mouth of the Sea of ​​Galilee near the Sea of ​​Galilee and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Afula.
