Hakim, Sigalit
Bat Margalit and Yechezkel. Born in Jerusalem on August 22, 1971. She studied at the Masada elementary school and at the Denmark School in early childhood education, and in mid-January 1990 Sigalit was recruited for service Duty in the IDF. She completed her basic training successfully, was assigned to the General Staff and was sent to serve in a rehabilitation and maintenance unit in Zrifin. Sigalit served as commander of the base. According to her command, she was responsible for managing and organizing the work of the ministry, which coordinates all the unit’s activities. He noted her initiative, her organization’s ability and especially her diligence. On the 24th of Sivan 5761 (6.6.1991) Sigalit fell during her service. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by her parents, five sisters – Shulamit, Mazal, Meirav, Iris and Lilach, and brother – Yossi. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Signy performed her role faithfully and with dedication … She was an attentive ear to everyone, encouraging and helpful … We all had an example of what she gave the people and the IDF.”
