Hakim Por, Eliran


Ben Esther and Abraham. Born on June 16, 1975, in Jerusalem, he was the son of a four-year-old religiously observant family, and when Eliran was eight years old, the family moved to Ma’aleh Adumim, where he studied and was educated. He was a good student, who was in charge of all the tasks at the school and excelled in the practical work of the workshop, was an excellent swimmer and participated in the team. He won the medals for both his own and his team, and at the age of eleven he crossed the Sea of ​​Galilee. He was a sociable boy, always with friends.In early August 1994, Eliran was drafted into the IDF. He successfully completed the basic training course and was assigned to the Ordnance Corps. Eliran asked to serve as a mechanic in the Paratroopers Brigade, but according to the needs of the army he was sent to serve in the Ordnance Corps base in the Central Command. On the 29th of Tishrei 5759 (29.9.1994), Eliran fell during his service and was put to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was nineteen when he fell. Survived by his parents and three sisters – Limor, Hadas and Adi. IDF Chief of Staff Ehud Barak wrote to the family: “Eliran began his contribution to the security service when he studied at the ORT Industrial School, which belongs to the IDF Rehabilitation and Maintenance Center … His name was commemorated in a Torah scroll, which they donated to the Or Torah Synagogue in Ma’aleh Adumim and other commemorative works in his memory. In his memory, his mother, Esther, wrote: “… this mischievous child has become a man who is demure and charming, / built tall, tall and tall – his image is prominent. His / her good boy is willing to help, always characterized him / And he, with real pleasure, responds to all … Yes, our little boy has become a gorgeous man / And every time when I get home and see a bunch of flowers / I know … has come…”
