Haimson, Shlomo

Son of Ita and Sommer was born in Romania on January 1, 1930. Shlomo was an outstanding student in both elementary and high school, and as a young man he was characterized by the qualities of the leader, who pursued justice and honesty, He was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement in his city, and his father was killed by the Germans during the Second World War, and Shlomo and his mother tried to reach Eretz Israel in 1948. They were deported to Cyprus. Shlomo began his public activities there, joining the Hagana and becoming a camp counselor in Cyprus, and on August 8, 1948, He was hit and killed by British guards during a clash between escapees from the camp and the guards, brought to rest in Cyprus and left behind a mother.
