Herzl son of Farcha and Daniel was born on May 13, 1955, in Moshav Achituv in Emek Hefer, He completed his elementary studies at the Yechon school in Emek Hefer and later began studying the subject of car electrical engineering at the Neurim School. During his high school years, Herzl joined the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement and, while studying at the Neurim School, worked in a garage in Netanya. Herzl was a quiet, humble boy, but at the same time he was cheerful; He was always smiling and joking, and from his childhood, he was active in every celebration or joy. Herzl loved people, believed in them, and always liked being with people. That’s why he got so many friends. His friends liked to be with him, at home or at their home, they were quick to consult him before doing anything and always sought his closeness. Everyone who came into contact with him – at work, in school or in social gatherings – liked him at first sight and immediately saw his good qualities, his love of people and his immense joy of life. Herzl was always able to connect with different people, and immediately found a common language with each person. He naturally loved to help others and never rejected a plea. He always found time for a friend – for conversation, for joint recreation, for help and for help at work. He liked everything – both among his friends and among his family. At the age of thirteen, his father died in a car accident, and Herzl was in a very difficult period of crisis. He was very attached to his father, and after his death, Herzl realized what his special role would be in the family. He felt older than his years, behaved more maturely, and although he was very fond of frolic in his childhood, he knew that the new situation required great seriousness and effort from him. He participated in bearing the burden of responsibility for the family in every way. Mostly he tried to help his mother overcome the difficult situation and never agreed to leave her alone. He also had a special relationship with his brothers and sisters, fulfilling the father’s role in the family. Herzl was very attached to his family, and always tried to be close to them and spend every moment of leisure in the bosom of his family. He was also connected to distant family members, and everyone applauded him for taking such a heavy responsibility and having been so successful, despite his youth. About a year before his enlistment, in February 1972, Herzl left his job and returned to the economy to help his brother work in agriculture. He did the work in the economy wholeheartedly and lovingly; He always tried to improve and invested all his energies in it. He loved the challenges agricultural work placed before him, he never gave up and did not stop the work he took upon himself, and never said “I can not” or “I do not know.” He always tried, studied, struggled, and succeeded. Herzl was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1973 and volunteered for the Armored Corps, and after completing his tank training course, he was assigned to the armored corps as a liaison officer. During the vacations from the army, the house was full of friends who came to see him and talk to him – and the yard next to the house was full of cars that required repair, and Herzl divided his time between his family and friends and the work that required repair. At that time, Herzl developed a special hobby-he was dealing with the innovations of old objects and was so successful that no one believed their eyes. In the Yom Kippur War In the battle that took place on the 7th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973) in the region of Kuneitra near the Harmonica, Herzl was injured by machine gun fire as he was rescued from a damaged tank, killed and brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Hadera He left behind a mother, brothers and sisters, and was promoted to the rank of corporal.
