Hagi, Dov-Zvi (“Dubi”, “Deble”)

Son of-Avraham and Sarah-Rivka. He was born on the 18th of Adar 5709 (20.3.1949) in Haifa. When he reached school age, he studied at the Zevulun elementary school in Kiryat Yam and after graduating he studied at the vocational high school in the same city, but continued his studies at the vocational school in Nesher where he completed his studies there. He was a member of the Mahanot Ha’olim movement and a youth movement counselor. Dov was a full patriotic, polite and kindhearted patriot who loved his circle of friends and acquaintances, a devoted son to his widowed mother. He was always willing to help her at home and relieve her suffering. The purpose of his life and his ambition were to join the kibbutz and to do for the common good. Since his father’s death (in 1963) he has become serious and felt himself the pillar of the family for which concern for the safety of his mother and sister. The spirit of volunteerism that characterized him was a natural continuation of his membership in the youth movement to which he devoted most of his time and energies and saw a way of life for the future. He was naturally friendly and never angry. He always tried to protect the weak from deprivation and any deviation from absolute justice would have saddened him. In September 1966, he was drafted into the Nahal Brigade, and when he was in the army he did not stop worrying about his mother, and he always tried to communicate with her in letters or by telephone. He also served in the IDF until February 7, 1968, when he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. His memory was raised in the “Telmidon” of the school “Zevulun” to which he belonged.
