Hadida, Avraham

Hadida, Avraham

Son of Maimon and Marcela. He was born on May 30, 1951 in Casablanca, Morocco. His family immigrated to Israel in 1957. He attended the “Yavneh” elementary school and the “ORT” vocational high school in Ort, both in Kiryat Ata, participated in the Gadna activities and went on trips. He loved sports and played football a lot. He was particularly interested in scientific and technical matters and showed a tendency to work in electrical work, carpentry, frames and so on. Thus, after completing high school, he studied at the naval technical boarding school. As a boy he decided that when he grew up, he would embark on a ship and earn money to help his parents live a comfortable life. On the eve of the Six-Day War he volunteered with great devotion to help in various ways: he went out with the police to take care of the blackout patrols and went to donate blood, without fear. In October 1969, he was drafted into the IDF, and about two months later, he was wounded in the course of his duty in the explosion of the Ammunition Truck in Eilat on January 29, 1970. Five days later, he died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
