Haddad, Dov (Gruner)

Haddad, Dov (Gruner)

Son of David and Fortuna. He was born on July 9, 1950 in Jerusalem. As a student in elementary school, he was always proud of the fact that he was named after one of the gallows – Dov Gruner. He was educated in Ein Kerem, and later, for the family to Jaffa, attended the Beit Avraham elementary school where he completed his studies. He then studied at the ORT vocational high school in Tel Aviv. He was inclined to sport, liked jumping on a pole and lifting weights. He spent most of his free time devoting himself to pigeons and ornamental birds. He was naturally comfortable and avoided causing grief and concern for his parents. He was drafted into the Armored Corps in August 1968 and was glad to have been given the opportunity to serve in the Suez Canal, and after completing his first three months there he had to go north, but he was left with no drivers. But for a period of eight months or so until he fell in a fire incident as a result of enemy activity in the Suez Canal area on 10.4.1969 and was brought to rest in the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery.
