Hadas (Handels), Yigal

Yigal, son of Zeev and Tzila Hadas (Handels), was born on October 13, 1943 in Tel Aviv. After completing his studies at the Hebrew Gymnasium “Herzliya” he studied at the Tel Aviv branch of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In Jerusalem he also studied and was awarded the B.A. in statistics and economics. He was an assistant professor at the university there and was famous for his academic achievements. Was a classical music lover and photography was one of his hobbies. He was drafted into the IDF and served in the Armored Corps, and was given the name of an outstanding soldier, and after his discharge from the army he was called to reserve duty and even before the Six Day War he was called to serve. In the battle for the Jebel Livni camps in Sinai, while his tank was in search of a company rescue company, Yigal was wounded and a week later, on June 11, 1967, died of his wounds. He put down a wife. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His name was immortalized in the pamphlet “The Centurions”.
