Hadas, Eli (Eliyahu)


Ben Jamila (Yaffa) and Aaron. He was born on 29.6.1950 in Kiryat Ono. Brother to Nissim. Eli attended the Nir Elementary School in Kiryat Ono and the ORT vocational high school in Ramat Gan. Eli was a strong and strong guy and was very active in sports. He was active in the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement. Prior to his induction, Eli studied driving in a pre-military course, and in late August 1968 he was drafted into the army and assigned to the Armored Corps. He completed basic training and was sent to the Armored Corps School for a course for armored personnel carriers. Eli was sent to the armored personnel carrier training course and served as a counselor at the Armored Corps School, and during the entire period of his service, he also showed concern and responsibility for his family. The release certificate reads: “A soldier who did his job properly, disciplined and enterprising.” During his years in the reserves, he advanced from the rank of Corporal to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In his civilian life he found livelihood as a driver on the Soldier’s Committee. After work he studied photography technicians and was hired as a senior technician at the Karat company. Eli had many friends. It was a kind of “social center” for all its many acquaintances. Was sensitive to the needs of others, and his house was always open to help and advice. On November 7, 1993, Eli was called to active reserve duty and went to his unit in a school for infantry, where he served as a driving instructor.The next day, on 8 November 1993, during training at the infantry school, his vehicle turned over and he was seriously injured. He was transferred to Soroka Medical Center, where he lay mortally wounded for a week while his children were surrounding him. The doctors could not save his life. On November 15, 1993, Eli died of his mortal injury and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Eli left behind two sons – Gil and Yaron and daughter – Yafit, father, and brother – Nissim. His children continue his path, fulfill his aspirations and perpetuate his memory and his life’s work.
