Son of Rahamim and Sarah. He was born on 11.3.1952 in Ramat Gan. Where Uri studied for four years at the Pardes School. The family moved to nearby Givatayim, and Uri continued his studies at the Borochov school. He studied for one year at the New High School in Givatayim. He then went to work and engaged in various crafts. Yet. Did not abandon the idea of ​​continuing his studies and passing his matriculation exams. He studied in the evening, but did not have time to take the exams because he was drafted into the IDF Uri was a handsome young man who charmed his audience with his stature, was full of humor and was very fond of his many friends. He was a sports enthusiast and took part in the Sea of ​​Galilee and various marches, and on the eve of his enlistment in the army, in July 1970, Uri joined the Nahal Brigade in the Nehushtan nucleus. He spent most of his military service in the Paratroopers Brigade, underwent a parachuting course and was promoted to the rank of Corporal, and at the beginning of the Yom Kippur War he fought in the cruel battlefield of the Golan Heights. The course was shortened and completed with a rank of sergeant. “A talented MTAC, loved by soldiers and commanders. After the war, he graduated with honors from the Israel Air Force. ” He was transferred to Africa and operated in the sector opposite the Second Egyptian Army. At the beginning of March 1974 Uri was discharged from regular service. He had not yet managed to find his way into civilian life, and was already invited to reserve duty in early June. In this service, during training, he fell in the line of duty – on 29 June 1964. Was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. Uri’s commander wrote to the bereaved parents: “Your son, Sergeant Uri, served in an armored unit as a tank commander. He was one of the best commanders in his company. Loved by his friends, his subordinates and his commanders. “The parents, with a festive majority and ceremony, brought a Torah scroll in memory of Uri to the Ohel Rachel synagogue in Ramat Gan.
