Hadad, Reuven (Robert)
The eldest son of Victor Chaim and Matilda. Born on June 24, 1936 in Tunis, he immigrated to Israel as part of the “Youth Aliya” in 1950 and his parents joined him that year, attended an elementary school in Malcha and later in two evening classes at the high school of Hanoar Haoved. He joined the IDF in August 1954 and joined the Givati Brigade in August 1954. In 1956, he also fought in his battalion during the occupation of the Rafah outposts. Then he became fond of his commanders and subordinates and his courage and served as an example to his friends. In 1957 he was released from his regular service and began working in the “Merkaz” printing press in Jerusalem. He excelled in his work and was considered an excellent printer. His spirit was always good for him, and the jokes in his mouth made him feel warm and cheerful. Hate was beyond him; On the contrary, he helped others out of kindness and love for others. Was occasionally called up for reserve duty and in this framework was also in the Six Day War. Was an effective executioner in every assignment he was assigned and his commanders noted him for his courage and his spirit. On the first day of the battles, on the 6th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), in the Battle of Tire near Jerusalem, he fell. Was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
