Hadad, Eliyahu

Eliahu, son of Kadia and Yefet, was born on March 15, 1954, in Moshav Azriel in the Sharon region, where he studied at the Schechterman State Religious School in the village of Yavetz, and after completing his elementary studies, In Kfar Haroeh, Eli was a great family member, helped many of his parents in the agriculture and excelled in his studies, he was loyal and a dear friend, he had great intelligence, love of knowledge and love of work, With a Lev smile and a radiant and intelligent look, and the family, which gave him great love, appreciated Eli’s seriousness, his desire to learn and to be opinionated and always stood by him. He was loved by his friends, teachers, and those who knew him, and he was a loyal friend who was ready to help as much as he could to anyone, always walking modestly and directly with people. Eliyahu was drafted into the IDF in early August 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps. He passed the basic training with a high grade and then took a tank driver course and a tank gun course and was sent to a unit in the Sinai area. When the Yom Kippur War broke out Eli was with his unit near the Suez Canal. On October 7, 1973, Eli was a gunner in a tank who stormed a column of six tanks to break through the ring of encirclement. The tank was on a mine and Eli was killed. There was no certainty that Eli had fallen and for months the family waited for news from him until he was sure of his fall. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Moshav Azriel. Survived by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. Rabbi Shlomo Leib Zuckerman wrote about it from the Kfar Haroeh Yeshiva: “Four of his Yaffa years, which he dedicated to high school yeshiva studies, shaped the spiritual image of Elijah: a good fellow with God and man. One of the good sons whom the Land of Israel raised and nurtured in the perfect education of Torah and love of our Holy Land. And all the good and the Yaffa: his life, a message for the people and his country, and he ascended and ascended the degrees of saints and pure in the vehicle of fire to heaven. The family donated a Torah scroll for the commemoration of his soul, and in his memory are included in the Etz Chaim booklet, which was published to commemorate the members of Hapoel Hamizrachi.
