Hadad (Barzilai), Moshe


Moshe, son of Sarah and Moshe Hadad (Barzilai), was born in the city of Dimar, Yemen, and immigrated to Israel in 1910. During the riots he volunteered for the Nutras (Sheik-Abirk). He was a member of the” Tzeirei Hamizrachi ” Movement, “Maccabi ” and a volunteer for the firefighters. As a musician, he was a member of the orchestras of these three associations. As member of the Hagana, Moshe was recruited and served in the “Kiryati” Brigade. During a tour of occupied Ramle, he entered a deserted building to examine it, encountered a landmine that killed him on the 7th of Av, August 12, 1948. Moshe was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. He left behind a wife, two sons and two daughters.
