Hadad, Asher
Son of Jacob and Sarah. He was born on the 3rd of Tammuz 5707 (3.7.1950) in Tsrifin. His family moved to Herzliya, where he studied elementary school, continued to study for a year at the ORT vocational school, returned to high school, and eventually completed his studies in a vocational school in the automotive mechanics program. During his studies he was a member of the Gadna and took part in all the activities – marches, camps, trips, etc. He was drafted into the IDF in mid-October 1968. After basic training, he was attached to an armament unit. In the Corps, he underwent courses and advanced studies and held responsible positions in various fields. Thanks to his service in remote areas he received the ‘Operational Service Award’. During his service he married Esther, and the couple settled in Ra’anana. Over the years, the couple had two daughters and a son. On February 27, 1975, Asher fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Herzliya. He left behind a wife, two daughters and a son, parents, and a brother. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “In the unit he served as the commander of a workshop, and in his early days, he discovered excellent organizational skills and was an exemplary professional.”
