Hack, Louis (Aryeh-Lev)
Son of Tova and Shmuel, was born on August 14, 1962, in the Dornfuntein suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa, where he graduated from the Government School and the High School of Commerce in his hometown. In 1937 he became the boxing champion in the Transvaal, and in the years of his organization he served for many years as an activist in the Balfour Sports Club. He was a member of its board of directors and also served as the chairman of the Balfour Sports Club, Head of the Women’s Hockey Club, organized a volleyball team, ran the swimming club and was appointed to its permanent president before his arrival in Israel. Before his immigration to Israel, he successfully passed the exams as a certified accountant and received the Sasa degree. During the War of Independence he immigrated to Israel and volunteered for the IDF as a Machal man. The 72nd Battalion, 7th Brigade, was wounded when his unit raided the village of Iqrit, deep inside enemy territory, and his friends, carrying him on a makeshift stretcher and clothes, managed to transfer him to Kibbutz Eilon , And in the ambulance he transferred from the kibbutz to Nahariya died of his wounds on 20 October, 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
