Habib, Yoel
Son of Tovah and Shlomo, was born on the 29th of Shevat, February 29, 1929 in Barcelona, Spain. On February 2, 1944, he immigrated with his parents to Israel and the family settled in Hatikva neighborhood in Tel Aviv. Yoel enlisted in March 1948, trained in all types of infantry, and participated in the occupation of Beit Daras, Katara and Yazur, as well as security services. On May 12, 1948, on his way to the Gedera road, he was murdered by British soldiers as they were leaving the south. He was buried in Gedera.
On the 10th of Elul 5710 (10.10.1950) he was put to rest at the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
