Haberberg, Dov
Son of Rachel, born in the Old City of Jerusalem, and Elimelech, born in Warsaw. He was born in Tel Aviv in 1930. He graduated from the “example” school next to the teachers seminary, and later studied frameworks in his father’s workshop, and joined the Gordonia movement, He left his real age and was prepared to enlist in terror, lest they accept him, but to his delight the fear was lost: he underwent training at Kibbutz Naan and suffered the hardships In March 1948, he was sent to Jerusalem as a soldier among the soldiers, and in the battle for the Castel, which was captured in preparation for Operation Nachshon for the breakthrough to Jerusalem, Three days in the rear, but before he was cured, he returned to his company in Kastel, where the Arabs attacked several times in order to return this vital rule to their hands, and on April 7 and 8, their commander ‘Abd al-Qader al-Husseini was killed. The defenders of the outpost were forced to withdraw, and the severe retreat fell on 28 April 1948. From the day of his fall, Dov was presumed to be a cavity whose burial place was unknown. An investigation of the branch for the identification of missing persons in the IDF, in cooperation with the Unit for Commemoration of the Soldier in the Ministry of Defense, revealed that when he was killed he was buried in the Ma’aleh Hahamisha cemetery and on the 11th of Kislev 5714 (19.11.1953) Land-rest at the military cemetery on Mount-Herzl in Jerusalem.
