The days of the family’s stay there were days of anticipation for the desired goal, for Shimon knew, loved and loved the country from his father’s stories, which he visited in 1934. When I asked him why he did not ask for a postponement, even for a while, he replied, “Father, I do not want to appear to be evasive. And our villages. ” In October 1954 he was drafted into the IDF as part of the Nahal Brigade (in the Tel Katzir farm). It was not by accident that he joined the Nahal, because he always loved nature, its flora and fauna, and had a goal for the future, because he wanted to be a farmer and a farmer, and in the short time he worked in kibbutz farms And later in the Nahal Brigade) did this work out of desire and enthusiasm. When the problem of the military courses began, he offered himself a course for scouts, which he successfully completed. Although he knew most of the country from school and movement and his “private” trips, accompanied by a friend or alone, the little that he did not meet was completed as a scout in the Nahal Brigade, and fell during a combat operation on the 23rd of Nisan, And the Tel Qasir family published a pamphlet in his memory, in which a Torah scroll was placed in the synagogue of the Yemenite Jews in Tel Aviv, and was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroopers’ Wars”.
