Gutterman, Shmuel (Molik)


Son of Pnina and David, was born on 28.8.1938 in Haifa, in November 1956 he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Nahal Brigade, where he took a platoon and a platoon commander course, and was promoted to Corporal in November 1957. He excelled as a soldier with the qualities of a man In June 1958 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and after his discharge from the IDF continued to serve in the infantry reserves. He served in a series of courses and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in March 1959. In his civilian life, he worked as a tractor operator and as a heavy equipment operator in the Zevulun Regional Council, where he fought in the Six-Day War and during the Yom Kippur War. His commanders, who regarded him as a soldier with the characteristics of a field man, objected to him, and was sent to the APC course and was appointed as the noncommissioned officer in his company, and he took great pains to ensure the proper functioning of his company’s vehicles. Cheshvan 5761 (6.11.1980) served in the reserves in the Hebron area and went out to examine a vehicle on the Be’er Sheva-Arad road A 42-year-old soldier was killed when he was killed in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery in the Haifa Bay, where he left behind a wife, son, daughter, parents and brother.
