Gurcard, Musa Ibrahim

Gurcard, Musa Ibrahim

Son of Hamadia and Ibrahim. Musa was born on 1 July 1962 in Kfar Kama, a village in the north of the country. Old son to his parents, with a brother and two sisters. His father was a farmer and his mother was a housewife. Like the rest of the village, Mussa studied at the local school. At a very young age he was orphaned from his father and the economic situation in the house worsened. As a youngster, he understood the difficult situation at home and agriculture was not the solution to the difficulties of earning a living. Thus Musa enlisted in the British army in 1940, at the beginning of World War II. He served for nearly three years in Libya and fought there. Musa married his girlfriend Faika in 1942. In the years to come, the couple had two daughters and two sons. In 1948, with the outbreak of the War of Independence, the Circassians decided to join the IDF, and all the men, including Musa, were recruited to the Circassian company that was established in the IDF and took part in the fighting. After the War of Independence, Musa joined the Israel Police. He did most of his work in the Western Galilee and on the Lebanese border. In 1955, he moved to the Border Guard, which was established during that period, and in the following years he underwent various courses, such as a course for commanders, a star course, and more. Musa was known for his sense of humor. He always smiled and caught up with those around him. Pranks came out from under his hand in every situation. He was very loved by people, by his friends in the Yishuv and by his colleagues in the security surrounding it. Pranks came out from under his hand in every situation.
