Gur, Ilan

Ilan, son of Shoshanka and Chaim Gur, was born in 1977 in Kibbutz Malkiya in the Upper Galilee. In January 1996, Ilan enlisted in the IAF and was accepted to an aviation course. On the 17th of Adar 5758 (March 15, 1998) Ilan fell in the course of his duties in an air accident near Wingate Beach, near Kibbutz Gaash. A few seconds later the helicopter made a sharp turn, lost its rear part and plunged into the sea from a height of 100 meters. Ilan was brought to eternal rest in his kibbutz, Malkia. Survived by parents and six brothers and sisters. After his death he was promoted to lieutenant.
