Gulenshin, Kirill

The only son of Diana and Michael. Kirill was born in Khmelnytsky, Ukraine, on August 24, 1985. Kira or Kiryusha, as his parents affectionately called him, was a good, mature, serious boy who understood everything without being told, sensitive and indifferent, very caring and helpful. In 1991, at the age of six, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem, where Kirill studied and was educated from the first to twelfth grade at the Experimental School in Jerusalem. He completed his matriculation exams in English and in high grades. As part of his studies in the film direction he directed films and played in them. From childhood he loved reading, developing and learning; Any topic that interested him, he studied in depth. The reading enriched his language, even the geography teacher praised the high Hebrew in his work. His class coordinator, Yigal Shapira, spoke about “a good boy in Jerusalem, a good soul … a good friend who loved traveling and doing sports.” Kirill, according to him, was on every mission he was assigned and “was an esteemed figure, a sociable man … he had character, he did not smoke or drink, although almost everyone around him did it.” In his youth he was interested in philosophy and psychology, politics, and issues concerning the country. Alongside these activities, he was an outstanding athlete; He trained in Karate Du and won cups and medals, was a great swimmer, ran short and long distances, and during the year he danced ballroom dancing at the Kiryat Yovel Community Center and won prizes, but during his spare time he stopped dancing. His musical preferences varied, including English and American rock, Matti Caspi’s ballads, Meir Ariel songs, alternative and classical music, and from the eleventh grade he became interested in the army and decided to serve as a combat soldier in an elite unit. During the last two years of his high school he participated in a preparatory course for the IDF, and he wrote humorously: “From the very beginning of his career in Israel, he kept fit for the army. He was engaged in karate martial arts, thinking that this was another tool that would help him combat the hostile elements he would encounter. After enlisting in the army and occupying the post of chief of staff, Kirill will cancel the existence of all the elite patrols and will maintain the elite patrol – the Kirill Patrol. ” In the 12th grade he was exposed to the world of pre-military preparatory courses, and after the selection he was accepted to the “Meitzar” – a school for leadership and social responsibility in the Golan Heights. He volunteered to help, while he served in the IDF: “The main idea of the preparatory courses is to bring out good and helpful people to the society, who care about the state and the Israeli society and are willing To contribute by themselves so that the state would be a better place to be in all respects And especially I have set myself goals and goals for life, many values that have strengthened me and become practical positions on life. ” In formulating the preparatory program, he helped all the difficulties. After trying out five compilations, he made a list of emphases for success and shared his friends. In the Mechina he created strong ties, friendships and relationships. He flattened love easily and without limits, connected to everyone, listened and accepted everyone without judging without reservation. With some of his friends in the preparatory program that year, he made strong friendships. That was Maria: “You are the person I trusted the most, I knew there was no other person who could understand me like you, my best friend, I think you believed in me a lot more than I did, supported, strengthened and were there, ready forAnd if you had to go to the other side of the country to pick me up. “You gave and gave yourself all the time, so sometimes it was hard to accept and contain so much love.” Efrat, the instructor in the preparatory program, spoke about Kirill’s passion and faith, and the conversations between them, which are filled with questions: “Your smiles and your tear , The thoughts and the questions, the determination and the passion, the devotion to inner truth and the frustration of what happens around you when others give up or just do not meet your expectations. “The instructor added:” When I think of a model apprentice, I see the image of Kirill. He is a serious guy with an eternal smile, loves the country, has a tremendous desire to learn, is devoted and has a very high work ethic, a model friend, an athlete, and a real army ‘poison’. I did not get to know a lot of guys like Kirill’s age who were so serious. Charismatic but quiet … A guy who has six responsibilities and is not afraid of any task, physically or otherwise. One for whom a trip is only through the legs, and love of the land is not a theory. Who can spend a whole night with you on one subject or another and then go and wash dishes that others have left, even if it is not his turn in the kitchen duty. One who stands before everyone else to do medals and goes to more and more consolidation in order to get the maximum out of himself, one who is connected to a battle heritage site in the Golan, Tel Saki, and guides visitors there as if he were present in the battles that took place long before he was born … The one that every committee would like to have as a member, and every guide and staff member wants to be with him, one that when you have agreed with him … you could be sure that it would be done in the best possible way … one that you would not hesitate to take I went to each forum as a representative of the Mechina … I looked for Kirill Gedolot, both in his way in the IDF and after his service. … “Kirill Kurtz of the material of leaders.” Nimrod his friend described him: “Enthusiasm and curiosity from every new thing, from any interesting insight … After every lesson, chavruta, trip or school, you were with that glittering look in the eyes of want more. You have not had a bit of cynicism and disrespect, and it’s all the most serious and important … These are the qualities of a young man who dreams of making and influencing … of a young leader who follows his beliefs, regardless of what they say, and no one will stop him. ” When he told his parents that he was determined to enlist in a combat unit, they tried to dissuade him. But Kirill did not give up, imbued with ideology and values of Zionism, sought to contribute to the state and influence. He advocated the sentence “If not I then who ?!” At last his parents respected his wishes and approved his request. His father said that his son: “Always wanted to be the best … is the best thing we have created.” Kirill lived every day as if he were his last day; Thirst to get to know new things, to experience deeply and try. On weekends she spent every minute on walks, parties and friends. He had an excellent sense of humor, innocence and kindness reflected in his gaze and smile. He rated the value of the companies high and never refused a friend’s request. On December 2, 2004, Kirill enlisted in the IDF, passed the snipers and was accepted to rescue unit 669. After a year in the route, he went to the “Sting” unit, the dog unit, where he combined his great love for the dogs with his dream of participating in combat operations. The dog, Mako, successfully passed through a difficult and challenging course that lasted about half a year of training, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant, while Kirill wanted to educate soldiers, to command and provide them of his own. The minimum period of time: “I suggested to Kirill that we write from himIn which we explain why it is important for him to be an officer in the Israel Defense Forces. The letter was sent to the commander of the unit, the commander of the unit, and other senior commanders, if necessary, in the hope that this would help … Two days later Kirill came back with a moving letter … The letter was sent and almost immediately Kirill was authorized to attend a commanders’ Kirill was very happy but now he has a new goal – to be able to take part in as many operational activities as possible before he delivers his beloved dog from Baku and goes on a course … In one of the activities we went out with, He offered me his commander’s coat and I would not be cold. ” In his letter, Kiril wrote: “I want to go to an officer’s course and be an officer in the IDF. My commanders believe that I am suitable and should leave, but due to my military history, the transition between units and the decline in turnover, I found that I was too long in the army to go to a course. … To this day I feel that I have met the challenges I set for myself, learned a great deal and recently I feel my contribution to the state and the army as a fighter. Despite the great and interesting work and the important contribution as a fighter, it is clear to me that my contribution as a commander will be much more significant. For me, command is a land on which I can realize my aspirations for change and influence. … I want to reach higher peaks. I believe that I can be a good commander and perform my duties professionally and effectively. “My greatest dream at the moment is to be a commander in the unit, I know that I have a lot to give myself to people and I have the desire to do so as an officer in the IDF.” Lt. Col. Yoav Bar Kokhba, : “During the month of July, Kirill fulfilled his dream when he went up to the operational company as a full-time combat unit member and began operations in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip … In one of your first operational operations in the Tulkarem area, And I saw you running your dog professionally, coolly and with impressive courage, you performed your mission as if you were a warrior from birth. He chose to serve in a back-office role, but he chose the most difficult and challenging way of becoming a combatant in an elite unit, which characterized Kirill, who placed love for others and contribution to society and the country before his personal needs. As a fighter in an elite unit, he wanted to contribute more … In a letter he sent to me a few days ago, he explained why he should go to a commanding course … Kirill, I’m sure you could have been a top-ranking officer and commander. . He was a friend of the truth, who gave his friends help in the difficult moments. He was characterized by his great smile, warmth, and love and influenced all his acquaintances. Operation Autumn Clouds was designed to locate terror infrastructures and hit Qassam rocket launchers at western Negev settlements, during which the IDF raided Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. Kirill went on an operation with his dog Mako in the auxiliary company of the Shaked Battalion, the Givati Brigade. During an attempt to break into one of the houses, the forces encountered fierce resistance from Palestinian militants and during the exchange of fire Kiril was mortally wounded. After a short while his death was determined. In his fourth operation in the heart of the Gaza Strip, while leading the force, he fell like a hero. Kirill Golenshin was killed in a battle in the Gaza Strip on November 1, 2006. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem, and was succeeded by his parents.. On his gravestone, his words were engraved: “There is no need to try, we have to do, so what is closed?” And also: “Always with you, always with us.” His sister Kira was born two years after his fall. His family and friends published a book in his memory. The many memories indicate that Kirill radiated positive energies everywhere. Smiling and modest, quiet and good-hearted, determined and full and willing to benefit everyone. He stuck wholeheartedly to the values he believed in and dreamed of ways to realize them, sometimes against all odds and against all odds. Kirill was a strong and inspiring man who stamped his friends and friends. They testify that his ambition for excellence, acceptance and his smile are a masterpiece for them. Which influenced them and taught them to be better people; They also said that he unites them even after his death, and they try to apply his approach to life based on curiosity to learn everything. “The glue of the preparatory school” called him confused. “With the stubbornness of you, blended with innocence and purity that I can not remember ever seeing in another person … Kirillon, you have been and still are a model for many people … the little prince with the great heart, the determination, the love, the totality, the dedication.” The stories show the longing for the words of encouragement and encouragement from his mouth, and there is a sense of personal and general missed opportunity, because Kirill contributed wherever he went, with extraordinary abilities, with tremendous energies, caring, sensitivity and love for life. A bright future awaits him. “You were all that most of us were not, you were brave, wise, humble, one who stuck to his goal,” Eldan wrote. “The legacy he has left me is to believe in yourself,” added Sharon. “To believe that you are capable of anything, to be a good person, not to waste time on hatred and envy, to be a good friend. ” His friends from the unit rehabilitated the Ein Gers spring near Moshav Mata to commemorate Kiril. About two and a half months before his fall, his classmate Uri Grossman was killed in Lebanon. In October 2010, the theater track at the Experimental School staged an evening in memory of the two. They are commemorated together near Ein Nakofa.
