Yitzhak began his studies at the elementary school in Ein Kerem and completed his studies at the agricultural high school in Ein Karem with a professional technological track. Itzik was a devoted son to his parents and a loyal friend of his many friends. He had never asked for anything for himself, on the contrary, his kindness and willingness to help were a thing. During his free time and vacations, he worked hard in the family farm. Yitzhak was drafted into the IDF in September 1979 and was assigned, at his request, to the Nahal Brigade. After basic training, he spent the rest of his service in Kibbutz Gonen in the north. When his time came to be released at the end of three years of compulsory service, his behavior on the release certificate was very good and his commanders’ assessment was: “He fulfilled his duty with responsibility and devotion, and was willing to do beyond his duty to the satisfaction of his commanders.” After his release, Itzik married Margalit and the couple settled in Jerusalem. He was a loving husband and devoted father to his son Amos. He found his livelihood as a storekeeper at the Mifromel plant. As usual, he fulfilled his duty with devotion, perseverance, and loyalty, proved a good will to help others and all with modesty and humility. During his service in the reserves, Yitzhak was transferred to the Medical Corps, underwent a medics course and was promoted to sergeant. Itzik served as a battalion medic in the Egged Brigade. His commanders admired him as “a reliable, responsible and honest man, an exemplary commander, dedicated to his work and a pleasant socialite.” On the 5th of Shevat 5752 (January 9, 1992), Sergeant Yitzhak Gueta fell in the line of duty and was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving behind a pregnant woman and a son, parents, three sisters and a brother – Sarah, And his son, who was born after his fall, was called Amit, and in his condolence letter to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “He served as a paramedic throughout his military career, until he reached the position of senior battalion medic. Throughout his career he excelled in dedicated service and with the sympathy of the soldiers and commanders of the unit. “Yitzhak was immortalized in a synagogue in his neighborhood.
