Guetta, Eran (Rahamim)

Ben Dina and Victor. He was born on May 31, 1975 in Ashkelon. Old son to his parents and a younger brother to his two older sisters. From childhood, Eran was very attached to his mother, a bond that had developed and intensified over the years. Infants surrounded him with warmth, indulgence, and love, and he caught the attention of everyone around him with his blue eyes, his broad smile and his rolling laugh. Eran knew how to enjoy the love that had been extended to him, but he also managed to bring back warm emotion, attentiveness, sensitivity, listening and small gestures, without the need for much talk. Eran’s uniqueness was in his ability to observe and listen, with which he absorbed his surroundings and showed her understanding and sensitivity. He liked to hear more than to play, but when he chose to speak he used his sense of humor and the cynicism that characterized him. He also had an amazing ability to mimic, that when he used her he would make those around him burst out laughing. Eran began his studies at the Ilanot Elementary School and continued at the ORT-Ronson High School. For him, studies were a necessity, not something he liked to do except for a few professions he had always loved and which he excelled in. Eran had a number of brilliance about his relationship to school. He would say that he attended a comprehensive high school, because the whole day he surrounded the school. When asked what direction he was studying, he would reply that he was studying in a solar nuclear program, where they mostly sit in the sun and crack the seeds. Eran loved the sea, swimming and diving, a love he inherited from his father, Victor. He used to travel a lot, along the length and breadth of the country, and on his trips he included mini-adventures: riding horses and camels, kayaking and driving jeeps and ATVs. In high school he met Etti, his only girlfriend and love. Together they went, spent, did the matriculation exams. Etti also accompanied Eran during his military service and recruitment. A hobby that could have become a profession in Eran’s life is the fuse. Eran started for Sif when he was six years old at Hapoel Ashkelon. He was fascinated by the “white sport” and found a wide and challenging field for his skills. Eran has spent a great deal of time in the fencing training and over the years has become a member of the Israeli national team. Eran was able to choose to serve as an outstanding athlete and serve under easy conditions near the home, but chose to enlist and volunteer for the paratroopers. A few months later, Eran discovered that because of a medical problem he could not continue on the route and to his disappointment, he was appointed as a quartermaster at the paratroopers base. “Eran’s commander wrote:” Eran served in the Paratroops for a year and a half. He came to the Paratroopers on a voluntary basis, which was throughout his service – dedication, responsibility and volunteering. We had no doubt that their hair was suitable to be an officer, and that was indeed his wish. We are sure that he had a great future. “Eran fell during his duty at the Sharon-Beit Lid junction on January 22, 1995, two days before he was supposed to fulfill his dream and embark on a parachuting course. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ashkelon, and was survived by his parents and two sisters, Oshrat and Edva, who believed that life must be exhausted to the fullest. So that his family and friends will remember him – with a wide smile between two smiling blue eyes, and his family has published a book in his memory.
