Gross, Yeshayahu
Yeshayahu, son of Chava and Jacob Gross, was born on 13.7.1925 in the city of Charka-Topola, Yugoslavia and graduated from high school. During the Second World War he fought in the ranks of the Yugoslav partisans against the German army. Yeshayahu arrived in Israel with his brother on December 26, 1948, and both enlisted in the IDF to the Alexandroni Brigade immediately after they disembarked from the ship. He was sent to one of the outposts near Ramat Hakovesh. Yeshayahu was the last to leave the outpost and on his way back to the base was hit by a bullet and fell on the 6th of Tevet 5709 (7.1.1949). He was only 12 days in Israel. On the 7th of Tammuz 5710 (22.6.1950) he was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
