Gross, Dov


Son of Malbin and Maurice, was born in 1921 in the town of Kishorda, Hungary. He finished seven grades of the elementary school and went to work as a tailor. When Hungary was dragged after Nazi Germany, he was drafted into the Hungarian army’s labor battalions. When he was released he returned to his work, but could no longer adapt to life in exile. Dov emigrated to Israel before the War of Independence, was sent to Cyprus, and in the first half of 1948, at the height of the war, immigrated to Israel and joined the army immediately to the Givati ​​Brigade. He was among the defenders of Negba, where he fell on the 9th of Tammuz 5708 (9.7.1948) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Negba
