Groff, Ilan


Ilan, son of Leah and Jacob (Carol), was born on 10.11.1954 in Kibbutz Beit-Kama. Ilan was drafted into the IDF at the end of January 1973 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade and after completing a paratroop course and a course for special equipment operators, he was very proud of the red cap and the sergeant’s sergeant and never complained, even though the training was exhausting. He was an excellent soldier and always helped his friends, and he always went from behind to help the weak, Ilan was one of the best in his company, and Raba was proud when he was chosen to take part in the first operation. In the Jordan Valley during the first war The unit was sent to the Beluzah area in Sinai and its soldiers took part in the fighting against the Egyptian positions on the western side of the Suez Canal, in the battle that took place on October 28, 1973, on the western embankment of the Suez Canal, A direct hit and Ilan was killed. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in Be’er Sheva. Survived by his parents and two brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
