Grinshpon, Alexander (Alex)


Ben Ida and Nachum. He was born in the Soviet Union on December 8, 1967. In 1973, he immigrated to Israel with his family and settled in Haifa, where he began his studies at the Gavrieli Elementary School, In May 1985, Alex was drafted into compulsory military service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). After a basic training course, he was assigned as a mechanic in the Ordnance Corps. His commanders testified that he was a good soldier, disciplined and did his job. In May 1988 Alex joined the ranks of the career army. On the 27th of Tishrei 5710 (October 26, 1989), Alex fell in the line of duty. He was killed in a traffic accident on his way home from his home in Moshav Dishon. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents and sister Rachel. He was twenty-two years old when he fell. A certificate of appreciation for his service in the regular army was transferred to the family.
