Gridi, Moshe

Son of Malka and Said, was born on 27 June 1951 in Mesilat Zion in the Jerusalem corridor. Moshe was a member of a well-to-do family, which immigrated from Yemen after the establishment of the state. He attended the Ramle State Religious School. At a young age he began to work, first as a construction worker and later as a filmmaker. In August 1969, he enlisted in the IDF, after completing basic training courses, and served as a driver in the PR unit. On October 6, 1973, with the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, he was promoted to corporal, and during his regular service he expanded his general education within the framework of the IDF. After leaving compulsory service he married and established his home in Ramle. He worked in a pipe factory, and did reserve duty in a unit where he served as a regular soldier. Moshe continued to study in IDF courses and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in December 1977. When the Peace for Galilee War broke out, he was drafted into reserve duty and was with the fighting force in Lebanon, and on October 18, 1982, In the direction of Ein Zahlata, while driving, his car slipped to the edge of the road and fell into the abyss, killing Moshe and wounding two other soldiers, 31 at the time of his death, Four brothers and three sisters, and his unit commander wrote in a letter of condolence to his wife: “Your husband was a veteran soldier in our unit and served all his years Come in the car department.
