Gregor, Chaim (“Vitaly”)


Chaim, son of Shmuel and Rivka Gregor, was born on May 3, 1933 in Izmir, Turkey, where he studied at the “B’nai Brith” school, and after his immigration to Israel he worked in packing citrus fruit and found his bread. In March 1951 he was drafted into the IDF and served in the Golani Brigade. After that he went to reserve duty, and in this framework was also found in the Six-Day War, during which he fell while carrying out his duties when the enemy’s plane exploded in the camp on 27 June 1967. He left a wife and three children and the youngest of them was about half a year old. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Afula.
