Greenstein, Eliyahu-Meir
Eliyahu-Meir, son of Chava and Yitzhak Greenstein, was born in 1904 in Wisoky-Mazowieck, Poland. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel with his family. He settled in Haifa, studied carpentry and worked for years at the “Carmel” cooperative. Eliyahu-Meir continued to participate in general Zionist activities. In 1938 he joined the Nutras and continued his work at the carpentry shop, where he was appointed to serve as a security guard. On the fifteenth of Adar I (February 25, 1948) he fell while doing his duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
