Greenboim, Gad
Was born on January 8, 1930, in the city of Hanover, Germany, where he immigrated to Israel at the age of five. In December 1947, after the UN General Assembly resolution on the partition of Palestine, Gad enlisted in one of the Palmach battalions, and served as a launderer in his father’s laundry. Gad trained himself for daring operations, and in one of them he died, in the explosion of the Hatzbani bridge that was carried out on enemy soil on the 7th of Iyar, 5708 (May 16, 1948). He was buried in Kfar Giladi. On the 16th of Tevet, January 25, 1951, he was laid to rest at the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
