Greenberger, Roni


Son of Eliahu and the Knesset. Born on 18.4.1953 in Netanya to his father and mother who survived the Holocaust, who lost their loved ones in the Nazi inferno, immigrated to Israel in 1948. Roni attended the Be’eri elementary school, and he developed well and despite the fact that he was not one of the students He was a good student, and for a short time he was a member of the Betar youth movement. He spent a lot of time on the seashore and spent his leisure time swimming, diving and fishing. When he was about thirteen and a half, he lost his father and during the year of mourning he woke up early in the morning to go to the synagogue to recite Kaddish. After graduating from elementary school, he studied for several years at the ORT vocational school in Netanya. He continued in pre-military training at the Air Force Technical School, studied aircraft mechanics and at the same time studied and prepared for external matriculation examinations. As he grew older, Ronny became a cheerful, life-loving boy with a great sense of humor. He had many friends who loved him and wanted his closeness. Roni enlisted in the IDF in early May 1971, before completing his technical studies, and volunteered to serve in the paratroopers. On September 17, 1972, he fell to the military cemetery in Netanya, and his commander wrote in a letter of condolence to the family: “As part of his service, Roni was a devoted and disciplined soldier, fulfilled the tasks assigned to him in a responsible manner – – – served as a model and was helpful to his commanders and his comrades in the unit. “
