Greenberg-Wolman, Tzipora


Daughter of Ayala and Zvi, was born in Russia in 1893. She graduated from high school abroad and became a dentist. She was a member of the Tse’irei Zion and He – Chaluts movements in Odessa. In 1921 she immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the “Gdud Ha’avoda”. Many of its stations were in Israel: Rosh Ha’Ayin, Migdal, Rishon LeZion, Rehovot, Ein Harod, Tel Aviv, Giv’at HaChutzavim near Kfar Giladi and finally, in 1927, in the Hagdud Company in Jerusalem. She was one of the founders of Kibbutz Ramat Rahel and its pioneers. In the 1929 riots, her husband, Pinchas Wolman, was murdered while Ramat Rachel was attacked by hundreds of Bedouins. Zippora remained in the kibbutz, worked in the care of children and the laundry, and was active in the Haganah, mainly in providing first aid. Was one of the loyalty to the pioneer spirit in the kibbutz. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, the kibbutz members were asked to move to Jerusalem, but she refused to accept them despite her advanced age. On the 13th of Iyar 5708 (22.5.1948), she traveled in a armored vehicle that was hit between Ramat Rahel and Arnona and was also in the fall. She was buried in Sheik-Bader Aleph. On the 26th of Elul 5710 (September 8, 1950) she was put to rest in the Ramat Rachel cemetery.
