Greenberg, Menachem Galili


Son of Miriam and Joseph, was born in 1914 in Dorohoy, Romania. From his childhood he aspired to immigrate to Palestine and immigrated as an immigrant in 1939 after serving in the Romanian army. He settled in Rishon Letzion, married a wife and was the father of two children. Menahem was a man of work, worked as an expert laborer in a glass factory, pleased with his lot and devoted to his wife and children. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, called to reserve duty and joined the Givati ​​Brigade. Menahem fell on the 15th of Tammuz 5708 (July 15, 1948) in defense of the Ibdis outpost near Negba, where his unit repulsed repeated attacks by the Egyptian army and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
