Greenberg, Avraham

Avraham, son of Bella and Moshe Greenberg, was born on September 12, 1928 in Israel. During the Second World War, his father was among the first to join the war against the Nazis and died in the south of Italy. Avraham followed his father’s ways, and even when he was a student in the elementary school, Avraham joined the Haganah and devoted all his free time to it. When the IDF was established, Avraham enlisted into the Givati ​​Brigade, fought in the battle for the conquest of Jerusalem and the battles of Yemin Moshe, Mekor Baruch and the Notre Dame Church. The village of Beit ‘Afa, near Negba, which was abandoned on the 11th of Tamuz, July 18, 1948. Rumors spread that Avraham had been wounded and taken captive by the Egyptians, but these rumors were not confirmed. On the 4th of Tevet, January 23, 1951, he was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
