Greenberg, Arieh


Son of Yaakov and Edith. He was born in a new immigrant home on the 20th of Tishrei 5708 (23.10.1948) in Ra’anana during the cease-fire of the War of Independence, and after the family moved to Ramle, he began to attend elementary school there until seventh grade. When the family moved to Montefiore, After his graduation, he studied at the Max Payne vocational school and became a mechanic, loved sports and belonged to the Maccabi soccer team in his neighborhood, and as a member of the neighborhood he was involved in the youth’s life, and everyone knew and liked and enjoyed the smile that was always on his face. He was recruited in February 1967 and served faithfully. During the Six-Day War he fought in the north and was among the infiltrators to the Syrian level. At the end of the war he was assigned to the Armored Corps He was separated from his parents because he thought of going to a convalescent home a few days later, but it was not because he fell as a result of exchanges of fire with the enemy in the Suez Canal on the 4 th of September 1967. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
