Greenberg, Amotz
Amotz, eldest son of Ilana and Amnon Greenberg, was born on 16.10.1968 in Kibbutz Yotvata in the south of the country. Amotz married Sagit. The couple established their home in Hod Hasharon, where they raised their three children. In June 2014, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip to Israel intensified, and as a result, Israel launched Operation Tzuk Eitan against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The operation began on 8 July 2014 with aerial bombardments. Amotz fell in battle during Operation Tzuk Eitan on July 19, 2014, six days after he was drafted to reserve duty in Armored Corps 188, which was sent to participate in the fighting. Amotz was forty-six when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Neve Hadar, Hod Hasharon. Amotz was promoted to lieutenant colonel after his fall.
