Greenbaum, Yerachmiel


Born in 1924 in the city of Michov, Poland, he lived in the ghetto in his city, and from then on his wanderings began from one concentration camp to another, from Plaszow through Grosszsen, Breslau and Mauthausen. During his two years in Italy he lived in the “Aliyah” kibbutz in the city of Santa Maria Dobni, and his job was to transfer refugees from Italy to Palestine, and at the end of 1947, Yerachmiel arrived in Eretz Israel The British authorities sent him, like many others, to the detention camps in Cyprus, in 1948, upon the liberation from Cyprus Mon Karl safe haven at home. He joined the Irgun fighters and fought with them in Haifa until liberation. When the Alexandroni Brigade was established, it was added to the brigade’s 35th Battalion. On July 14, 1948, Yerachmiel fell during his service and was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving down brothers and sisters.
